“มาเที่ยว TOHOKU! กันเถอะ” นี่เป็นคำชวนเพราะญี่ปุ่นเป็นประเทศที่ไม่เคยเบื่อเลยซักนิด ยิ่งไปยิ่งรัก เหมือนเจอผู้ชายหล่อแล้วโดนเดินตามไปได้เรื่อยๆ ไม่รู้จักเหน็ดไม่รู้จักเหนื่อย 555555 เหมือนญี่ปุ่นนั่นแหละจ้ะ แต่ถ้าไปเมื่อไหร่ก็มีแต่โตเกียว โอซาก้า วนไปวนมาอยู่แค่ 2เมืองนี้กับเมืองข้างๆ อีกนิดหน่อย ก็ไม่เอาแล้ว…พอ! เหมือนผู้ชายหล่อแต่เดิมๆ ไม่มีอะไรน่าตื่นเต้นจริงมะ รอบนี้โตเกียวเลยจะเป็นแค่ทางผ่านและตัวคั่นเวลาของเราเท่านั้นนะจ้ะ เพราะเราจะนั่งชินกันเซนต่อไปภูมิภาค TOHOKU หรืออาจจะคุ้นหูแบบเบาบางว่าเมืองเซนได!
I never get bored of Japan. The more I experienced Japan, the more I fall in love with it. I just never get tired of it. Usually though, we go to Tokyo, Osaka, and bits of the cities around them. Well, that’s not exciting enough for us! This time round, Tokyo is just a bypass for us because we are going to Shinkansen straight to Sendai in Tohoku – sound familiar to you?
พูดกันตามตรงสำหรับคนมาเที่ยวญี่ปุ่นครั้งแรกก็อาจจะอยากไปโตเกียว หรือโอซาก้าก่อนแน่ๆ เราเลยอยากแนะนำว่าสมมติถ้าเจอตั๋วไปญีปุ่นถูกมากกกกก แต่ต้องไปซักประมาณ 10วัน (ตั๋วถูกเวลามันชอบห่างกันเยอะ555) จะให้อยู่โตเกียวอย่างเดียวมันก็ไม่แปลกใหม่ แนะนำว่าลองแวะไปเที่ยวภูมิภาคอื่นอย่าง TOHOKU ซัก 3-4 วัน บอกเลยแล้วจะรักที่นี่ J
Tokyo or Osaka might be the desired destination for the first-timers in Japan. But if you happen to find very cheap plane tickets to Japan but have to stay in Japan for about 10 days (that’s the price that comes with cheap tickets, long period between arrival and departure dates), traveling in Tokyo the whole time might not excite you enough. So you should consider other regions like Tohoku for 3-4 days. You will fall in love with it, I can tell you!

ถ้าแพลนล่วงหน้าแล้วแน่ๆ ว่าเออ “กูไม่อยู่โตเกียวทุกวันแน่ๆ กูจะไป TOHOKU ด้วยเว้ย!” ก็ซื้อ Japan East Pass ไว้ก่อนเลยถ้าซื้อจากไทยจะถูกกว่าประมาณ 300 บาท แล้วบัตรนี้ข้อดีคือมันมีอายุ 14 วัน แต่ใช้ได้จริงๆ แค่ 5วัน คือเลือกเอาว่าจะใช้วันไหนก็ได้ 5 วันแล้วยังรวมค่ารถไฟความเร็วสูง Narita Express (N’EX) จากนาริตะเข้าไปที่สถานีโตเกียวเพื่อขึ้นซินกันเซนไปลงเซนได ถ้าซื้อบัตร Japan East Pass ไว้แล้วก็เอาไปแลกขึ้นซินกันเซนได้เลยทันที นั่งออกจากโตเกียวประมาณ 2ชั่วโมง นอนๆ ฟังเพลงไปแปปเดียวก็ถึงเซนไดและเที่ยว Tohoku ได้แล้ว!
If you are certain that you won’t just stay in Tokyo and will go to Tohoku as well, I suggest you to buy a Japan East Pass (it’s about 300 baht cheaper if you buy it from Thailand). The pass is valid for 14 days but can be used for any 5 days within that period. It also includes Narita Express (N’EX) from Narita to Tokyo station. There you can take the Shinkansen to Sendai. If you already have a Japan East Pass, you can use it to take the Shinkansen right away. It only takes about 2 hours from Tokyo to Sendai. Then you can start your adventure in Tohoku!

Imagine yourself as a gardener in Harvest Moon owning a big vineyard with lots of grapes. In one hand you have scissors to pick the grapes and the hand is free to pop them into your mouth. Hahaha fruit picking is one of our dream activities and anyway we turn, there are grapes and grapes and more grapes everywhere! And the best part is we can have an unlimited grape buffet for 30 minutes, with 3 varieties of grapes for us to choose from. It’s so sweet and awesome!

Some types of grapes in Japan are so sweet, like eating jelly. And some types we can squeeze the fruit ‘flesh’ out of the peel and eat them skinless. This vineyard is located in Tendo City in Yamagata. Don’t forget to drop-by to exercise your appetite!

This place is like a centre for souvenirs of the city. We drop-by to have lunch here. It’s like flea market that brings together great stuff from different places in the prefecture. The best thing is we can try out different stuff here. Usually they don’t allow people to try before buying in bigger shops. But here we can taste so much different stuff – so yummy!
- Nikka Whiskey
ถ้ามาหน้าหนาวควรมา แต่ถ้ามาหน้าอื่นๆ ข้ามไปก็ได้ถ้าไม่ใช่สายเหล้า เบียร์ ไวน์หรือแอลกอฮอล์ เพราะเค้าจะพาเดินดูกรรมวิธีของการผลิตต่างๆ ตั้งแต่ความเป็นมา ซึ่งเราไม่ค่อยอินเท่าไหร่ แต่ที่อยากมาเพราะวิวข้างในมันสวยดี 555 ร่มรื่นแถมยังมีไวน์และวิสกี้ชั้นเลิศให้ชิมเยอะพอสมควร เยอะเพราะกึ่มๆ ออกมาได้เลยแหละ
ถ้ามาหน้าหนาวควรมามาก เพราะหิมะที่ปกคลุมจะทำให้ Nikka Whiskey สวยที่สุดดดด!
I recommend you to come during winter time. But if you’re into liquor, beer, wine or the alcohol making process, you can come at any season because they will take you through the alcohol production and its origin (which I’m not that interested in!). I wanted to come here because of the scenic views inside and because they offer tasting of high quality wine and whiskey. Coming here in winter is highly recommended because Nikka Whiskey will be covered in snow – awesome view!

We are staying at Lala Resort Hotel Green Green for our first night because we’ve heard they offer a crab-leg buffet, the famous beef-tongue from Sendai and we can also watch the chef as he slices fresh tuna. It satisfied our cravings well. The room here is not too modern so don’t have too high expectations, but it’s fully equipped to the Japanese standard. Waking up with surrounded by mountains is good enough for us .

อะ! ใครที่นกมาทั้งชีวิต เราขอเสนออีกช้อยส์นึงที่น่าสนใจ ถ้าไหว้ขอพรมาแล้วทั่วโลก เพิ่มวัดนี้อีกซักที่เผื่อจะได้เลิกนกกันซักที ที่วัดโจกิซังนี่โดดเด่นเป็นพิเศษในเรื่องการขอพรเรื่องความรัก ขอคู่ ถ้ามีคู่แล้วให้ขอลูกขอเต้าแทน
For those that always seem to ‘fail’ in love all your life, this is an interesting option for you! If you’ve been praying at the temples around the world for your love life, add this one to your list as well so that you’ll (probably) finally get what you want. Jogi Nyorai, Saihoji temple is especially renowned for praying for one’s love life. For those without partner, you can pray for one. For those with a partner, you can pray for children instead haha.
ในวัดนี่จะร่มรื่นมาก เพราะมีสวนขนาดใหญ่ที่เค้าบอกว่าแถวนี้เคยเป็นที่ฝังสมบัติของจักรพรรดิ์ญีปุ่นมาก่อน แล้วที่ตลกคือมีบ่อปลาคาร์ฟที่สามารถใช้มือจุ่มลงไปแกว่งๆ กับน้ำ แล้วปลาจะว่ายมาตอดมือ 5555 นึกว่าหมา น่ารักเชียว
The temple here surrounded by greenery and has a large garden. They said the garden here used to be a place where they buried the treasure of Japanese emperors. And what’s funny is there is a koi pond where you can ‘play’ with the fish (just wave your hand in the water and the fish will nibble on your hand) hahaha.

ไปญี่ปุ่นนี่กินอะไรก็อร่อย เราชอบไอศกรีมหลังเซตเบนโตะ 5555 ไม่รู้เป็นกันมั้ย ด้วยความจิ้มลิ้มของอาหารที่มาอย่างละนิดละหน่อย ทำให้ไอติมก้อนจิ๋วช่วงที่มันใกล้ละลายนี่อร่อยที่สุดเลย แล้วแต่ละภูมิภาครสชาติไอศกรีมนี้ก็จะแตกต่างกันด้วย
Another must-do thing at the temple is to try the triangular-shaped fried tofu. It looks like pretty common food but is surprisingly tasty. I don’t know why it is so good either – it’s crispy fried tofu on the outside and soft on the inside, with a bit of shoyu (Japanese soy sauce) and chili to top it off. Perfect for the cold weather!
- Mogami River Cruise
คนแถวนี้เรียกแม่น้ำ Mogami ว่า Mother River เพราะตรงแม่น้ำนี้ร่ำรวยธรรมชาติซะเหลือเกินและยังสามารถเที่ยวได้ทุกฤดูอีกด้วย ไม่ว่าจะร้อน ฝน หนาว หรือใบไม้ผลิ ใครๆก็สามารถเอ็นจอยกับการล่องเรือเบาๆ บนแม่น้ำ Mogami แล้วดูวิวสวยๆ จากสองฝั่งธรรมชาติได้ไม่มีเบื่อ แถมยังมีเจ้าหน้าทีป่ระจำเรือคอยร้องเพลงคลอให้เบาๆ สไตล์ญีปุ่น โรแมนติกดีเหลือเกิน
The locals call Mogami river ‘Mother river’ because of the rich nature around here. You can travel here basically any time of the year, be it summer, rainy season, winter or spring. Anyone can enjoy a boat ride and beautiful view along both sides of the Mogami river. The bonus is a soft Japanese-style singing by the boat crew – so romantic.

มีแต่คนบอกว่าญี่ปุ่นหน้าร้อนมันไม่ค่อยน่าเที่ยว เราว่าไม่จริงหรอก! เราแค่ไม่ชินกับอากาศร้อนๆ ของที่นี่เพราะบ้านเรามันร้อนอยู่แล้ว เลยอยากมาเจออากาศหนาวๆ กันมากกว่า แต่มาช่วงนี้ฝนตกบ้างประปราย ธรรมชาติระหว่างทางก็เขียวได้ใจดี มันทำให้เราเห็นญีปุ่นในอีกแบบนึงที่ไม่ค่อยได้เห็นในเมืองใหญ่ๆ ซึ่งไหนๆก็มาทั้งที มาหลายวันหน่อยก็แวะมาเที่ยวแถบนี้เพิ่มอีกซัก 3- 4 วันเราว่าก็ไม่เลวเลยนะ
So many people said it’s not good to travel around in summer in Japan. I don’t think that’s true. We’re just not used to the hot weather here or maybe because Thailand is already so hot, we want to experience cold weather. Well, this time round we’ve had some rain so the grass and trees along the way are green and happy. And we get to see another side of Japan which we cannot find in big cities. So if you’re already planning on coming, staying a while longer and visiting this area is not a bad choice.
- Ginzan Onsen
ไม่คิดว่าจะมีเมืองแบบนี้อยู่จริงๆ เว้ย เป็นเมืองน้ำพุร้อนกลางหุบเขาที่โคตรสงบและสองข้างทางก็มีแต่โรงแรมและออนเซ็นให้เลือก เป็นบรรยากาศที่แบบโอ้ย อยากมีคู่ค่ะ! Ginzan Onsenนี่เป็นออนเซ็นระดับต้นๆ ของญี่ปุ่นเลยนะ ซึ่งราคาก็จะค่อนข้างแรงพอสมควรแต่ก็คุ้มค่าเมื่อเทียบกับบรรยากาศและความดีงามของที่นี่
I never thought that a town like this existed. A town where there’s Onsen right in the centre of a peaceful valley with so many hotels and Onsen on both sides of the street for you to choose from. Ginzan Onsen is one of the top Onsen in Japan, so the price is quite high too, but it’s worth it for the ambience and wonder of this place.
เราอยากให้ทุกคนมาที่นี่มันเวิร์ค มานั่งจิบกาแฟซัก 2 ชั่วโมงก็ได้ถ้าเวลาไม่พอ หรือถ้าอยากแช่ออนเซ็นที่นี่ก็มีบ่อน้ำร้อนรวมนะ ราคาประมาณ 500เยน และมีออนเซ็นแช่เท้าฟรีกลางธรรมชาติอีกด้วย ถ้ามีเวลาอีกครั้งหน้าสัญญากับตัวเองไว้ว่าจะแวะมานอนแน่นอนเลยที่นี่! *ที่นี่มายากซักหน่อยเช่ารถส่วนตัวจาก Yamagata Station น่าจะสะดวกสุดหรือถ้ามาคนเดียวก็จะมีรถบัสออกทุกๆ 1-1.30 ชม. ค่ารถประมาณ 700-800 เยน
We suggest you guys to come here. Just sitting and chilling with a cup of coffee for 2 hours is good enough if you don’t have time. Or if you want to try Onsen, there are mixed onsen for about 500 yen and free foot Onsen among nature.
I promised to myself that if I have time, I will drop by here again for sure. It’s a little bit hard to get to. I think it is most convenient to rent a private car from Yamagata Station or if you’re lone traveler, there is bus service every 1-1.5 hours. The fare is about 700-800 Yen.
- FOX Village
จะพลาดที่ไหนก็ได้แต่จะพลาดน้องจิ้งจอกไม่ได้เด็ดขาด!
ตอนแรกเห็นว่าที่นี่มายากมาก รถก็ไม่วิ่งตลอด แถมแท๊กซี่ก็โคตรแพง ทำไมต้องอยากมาดูหมาจิ้งจอกกันด้วยไม่ค่อยเข้าใจ จนสุดท้ายตัดสินใจว่ายังไงกูก็พลาดไม่ได้ จะได้กลับไปโม้ได้ว่า “กูไปมาละ ไม่เห็นมีอะไรเลย” แต่พอไปถึงแล้วเห็นหน้าน้องจิ้งจอกเท่านั้นแหละ โอ้ยยย อ่อนระทวยไปหมดทั้งตัว อยากเฉือนเนื้อตัวเองให้น้องๆ วิ่งมารุม 5555 (อันนี้ก็เวอร์ไป)
We can skip anything else but greeting a fox is a must-not-skip!
At first we thought this place is pretty hard to get to, with no regular bus or car service and the taxis being so expensive. Why should we come here just for the foxes? Finally we came to the conclusion that we had to come so that we can tell our friends “Oh, I’ve been there but it’s nothing much”. But once we arrived and met the foxes… “OMG they’re so cute!!!”.
แต่ความน่ารักของมันมีเยอะมากจริงๆ เราจะเห็นมันนอนเกลื่อนกลาด หลับตาแล้วเหมือนยิ้มตลอดเวลา แถมบางทีก็ขี้สงสัย ชอบเอาหน้ามาจ้องใกล้ๆ แต่..ที่นี่เค้าห้ามจับนะ เพราเค้าเลี้ยงมันตามธรรมชาติ ถ้ามันเป็นมือเราเป็นน่องไก่แล้วงับเข้าไปเค้าจะไม่รับผิดชอบใดๆ ทั้งนั้น เพราะฉะนั้นดูใกล้ๆ ได้อย่างเดียว
Their cuteness fills the air. We could see them lying down with closed eyes, look like they’re smiling or sometimes they would stare at us closely with a curious look. Well, you can’t touch them because they’re raised naturally. If the foxes decided to bite our hands, the staff will not be held responsible for that, so we can only look at them.
ถ้าอยากอุ้มจริงๆ ข้างนอกก็มีให้คุ้ม เค้าจะให้เราใส่ชุดคลุมสีเขียวสะท้อนแสงแล้วจับน้องจิ้งจอกมานอนออดอ้อนบนตักเรา อยากจะวิ่งหนีแล้วอุ้มกลับบ้านไปซะตอนนั้นเลย
If you really want to hold them though, you can do that outside. You have to wear a bright green jacket and you can hold the fox on your lap – you will feel like you want to take him home right then hahaha.
วิธีการมาที่นี่ก็นั่ง JR จากสถานี Sendai มาลงที่ สถานี Shiroishi ก่อนจะต่อรถแท๊กซี่มาที่ซึ่งไปหลายคนก็คุ้มแหละ เพรามันตกเที่ยวละเกือบ 4000 เยน ไปกลับก็ 8000 เยนละนะยังไม่รวมค่าเข้า ค่าของฝากต่างๆ อีก ถ้าไปคนเดียวแล้วอยากประหยัดให้ไปขึ้นรถบัสที่สถานี Shiroishi-Zao ประมาณ 2000 เยน ถ้ายังไม่เคยมายังไงก็คุ้มเพราะความน่ารักของน้องจิ้งจอก!
To get here, you can take JR from Sendai station to Shiroishi station. Then you can take a taxi here, which is worth it if you come in a big group. It’s about 4000 yen per trip so about 8000 yen for a round trip. There’s still entrance fees and some more expenses on souvenirs (if you want to buy any). And if you’re traveling to Japan on a budget flight like Thai Airasia X, don’t forget to order food in advance because there will be many people on the flight. Sometimes if you’re seated at the back, you might not get to eat what you want. Like for me, I like basil pork with omelet so I ordered that in advance because firstly, it’s guaranteed that I’ll get to eat and secondly, my food will be served before other people hahaha.
